The Erasmus Charter for Higher Education (ECHE) establishes the quality standards for higher education institutions (HEIs) to engage in European and international cooperation through Erasmus+. It is a mandatory requirement for any HEI in a Programme country seeking to participate in learning mobility or initiatives promoting innovation and best practices within Erasmus+, ensuring that institutions uphold values like academic freedom, inclusion, and equal access. Complementing this, the Erasmus+ Student Charter outlines the rights and obligations of students, guaranteeing access to services, academic support, and recognition of study outcomes, providing clear guidance for students to fully benefit from their Erasmus+ experience at both their home and host institutions.

Additional details about ECHE are available here.
