On October 2–3, 2026, a two-day “brainstorming marathon” titled “Practical Applications of Theological Education” took place at the Pühajärve Spa & Resort.

The event brought participants together to seek answers to the question: Why, for whom, and in what context is Christian and theological education necessary?

The think tank served as a kick-off event for a large-scale project aimed at improving the quality of theological higher education in Estonia and promoting cooperation among higher education institutions offering theological education.
Four Estonian institutions of higher education are participating in the project:

 -  Baltic Methodist Theological Seminary
 - Higher Theological Seminary
 - Faculty of Theology at the University of Tartu
 - EELC Institute of Theology

Over the course of two intensive days, representatives of the higher education institutions, faculty members, and experts in the field discussed the future prospects of theological education, its role in society, and practical applications in the labor market.

The event was carried out under Measure 21.4.4.2 of the list of measures in the Operational Program for the Education and Youth Program and the Cohesion Policy Funds “Links between Education, Society, and the Labor Market,” under the intervention “Quality of Higher Education, Internationalization, and Doctoral Schools,” and specifically within the activity “Quality of Higher Education and Internationalization.” The project is funded through the “KVARA – Quality and Internationalization of Higher Education” program.
